Renewing Our Vows

On Saturday, the 29 of January 2005, My husband Joe and I renewed our wedding vows again on our 40th Wedding Anniversary. We did this at our own church, known as Breakthru, in Malaga, Western Australia.

Our friend Bruce, I call him Rocky, chauffeured our daughter Carol and myself to the church. Glory to His Majesty on High. As we pulled up to the door, I could not believe my eyes. We were met by flashing lights and our photos being taken. At the other end of them, my cousin Glen and good friend Steve Douglas stood.

I felt I was floating along on the red carpet. Hallelujah! What a beautiful day the Lord gave us. Praise His Name For Ever. An awesome day I will never forget, never forget. Glory. Joe stood at the alter with our son Michael and my brother Mike all looking very smart and very posh. They stood waiting for it to begin.

Down the aisle came my ladies, looking lovely as ever, Judy, Jo and Marion. My second son Steve sat at the key board and sang us down the aisle with "Surely the Presence of the Lord is in this Place." My second son has a beautiful gifted voice from the Almighty. Amen! The anointing flooded me as our daughter Carol, my baby girl, took her mamas arm. As we headed down the aisle, she reassured me with, "Come on mum, you look beautiful", she smiled as we passed all our relatives and special friends that were having a ball. She looked so elegant walking and holding on to me, her mama. Carol led me to her father then sat down.

Vin, our pastor, stood there smiling already to begin. As he started the service getting some words from the bible, and some of his own, we then began. When the service ended, Vin said to Joe "now you may kiss your wife Edrina." Every one shouted, clapped and went wild. Then Vincent played his guitar while Jude, Jo and Marion sang "Reach Out and Touch the Lord." It was beautiful. Rhonda, my joy, was our MC. Loving and looking great she did her job well.

All my favourite songs were sang. Jo sang "I'll Walk With God. Michelle and Lyndsey sang "I Believe" and "The Wind Beneath My Wings." Then my Joy introduced our Boo (Carol) who spoke about her mum and dad. It was wonderful. You did a great job Boo. Then it was our boys turn he got up and spoke about us. Right on mate (Mike). Both of you were wonderful. We love you both.

When we started Colin Jimmy prayed for us to be blessed and to bless the food. Joy then played our special song by Frank Sinatra "Strangers in the Night." She then called on Joe to speak. He was good. He thanked every one for coming and put in the humor that only Joe can do. Towards the end he got a bit emotional giving some of our ladies a tear or two. Hello this is Joe blow! Then Joy passed it over to me. Well really I wasn't prepared for it, but I carried on. Amen! I was still up in the air. My friends roared not believing me. It was wonderful to look out and see all our precious relatives and friends as well as our church family. Glen boy, Di girl, Auntie Pam and Serge, Mike and Iona, Esther and all of you.

My hearts desire was to wear a veil, so thank you Jo for giving me that gift. It was priceless. Hallelujah. Every one did a great job on that day. It was awesome. My little Helen you were there in my heart and thank you Helen A for the work you did on that day. Judy's Steve did our video and Vincent our DVD with James coming to support us. Good boys. Every one of you are precious to us and rare. Thank you all. May the Lord continue to bless you all and keep you. Edrina and Joe Mau.
